29 Jan 2009 Global Business Ethernet LEADERBOARD
Global award recognizes the top providers delivering Business Ethernet services to multinational enterprises.
BOSTON, MA, JANUARY 29, 2010 —
There are five leading providers throughout the world delivering Business Ethernet services to enterprises with multinational networks, according to Vertical Systems Group’s latest research. Achieving a position on Vertical’s 2009 Global Business Ethernet Leaderboard are the following providers and their respective home countries in rank order by share: Orange (France), Colt (U.K.), Verizon (U.S.), AT&T (U.S.), and NTT (Japan). Global share measures retail Business Ethernet ports installed at enterprise customer sites outside of the provider’s primary home country. Providers cited on the 2009 Global Leaderboard each hold four percent or more of the market based on ports as of year-end 2009.
“Service providers that target the needs of multinational businesses are at the forefront of Ethernet market development and expansion. While Orange narrowly edged Colt as the Global share leader for 2009, both have invested substantial resources in their worldwide network footprints, particularly in Europe,” said Rick Malone, Principal at Vertical Systems Group. “As for the U.S.-based providers, Verizon has been the most aggressive in developing its global Ethernet service offerings, resulting in its solid Leaderboard showing.”
Other providers offering Global Business Ethernet services include BT Global Services, Cable & Wireless, China Telecom, Cogent, Easynet, Exponential-e, Global Crossing, Interoute, KDDI, KPN International, PCCW Global, Qwest, Reliance Globalcom, SingTel, Swisscom, Tata Communications, Telecom Italia, Telefonica, T-Systems and others.
